I work in an open plan office environment. Occasionally, on those days I haven’t had enough sleep the night before or when work has been really busy, I have a nap. I make up a nice pillow with my coat, pop it on the desk in front of me and rest my head on it for ten minutes at lunch time.
The first few times I got concerned “are you ok?” ‘s from my colleagues. Now I make sure I let them know I’m having a nap, not passing out.
The desk position leaves much to be desired however. Sitting on a wheelie chair rolling away from my desk, head on my arms is not so sustainable. Oh for a couch, quiet corner or even better, a sleep pod!
Perhaps the campaign should begin.
